The British Film Commission recently had a presence at the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) Locations and Global Finance Show, which took place in Burbank on 21-23 April and was attended by over 2,600 people.
The event occurs annually in Los Angeles, and draws a wide range of industry practitioners, including representatives from the major studios, production companies, independent producers, writers, directors and agents.
Our LA team were there to promote the UK as a premiere destination for shooting, post-production and VFX work, using their expertise to answer questions about a range of topics including tax reliefs, locations, infrastructure, cast and crew.
Kattie Kotok, Executive Vice President US Production at the BFC, spoke on a panel titled Around the World in 90 Minutes, which was one of five sessions presented as part of AFCI’s inaugural Global Finance Show, sponsored by Entertainment Partners. The UK was featured in conjunction with number of other jurisdictions, and was followed by a Q&A with an interested audience.
The BFC stand also offered brochures and materials from BFC’s screen agency partners, Film London, Creative England, Creative Scotland, Wales Screen Commission and Northern Ireland Screen, showing off the amazing variety of support and facilities available in every region of the UK.
