British Film Commission at Berlinale
A boost to collaboration with the UK: what’s new in UK tax credits?
Last week the BFC was delighted to deliver a panel in partnership with the BFI, supported by London & Partners, at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival to showcase to potential international partners the opportunities of the UK’s Independent Film Tax Credit (IFTC).
Under IFTC, eligible films with production budgets of up to £15 million will be able to opt-in to claim enhanced Audio-Visual Expenditure Credit, at a rate of 53%, on their qualifying expenditure.
A boost to collaboration with the UK: what’s new in UK tax credits? moderated by Agnieszka Moody from the BFI, saw producers Mike Goodridge and Janine Jackowski, Anna Mansi, BFI and British Film Commission Chief Executive Adrian Wootton discuss the new tax credit and opportunities for collaboration with the UK.
Adrian Wootton OBE, Chief Executive of the British Film Commission said on the panel: “The IFTC has had a galvanising impact and is going to further enhance the opportunities for co-production.”
The British Film Commission assists productions with guidance on the UK’s competitive and inclusive tax reliefs for qualifying films and high-end TV (HETV). Find out more about UK Tax Credits here.
